My bonsai diary. I will present you with what I did, spoiled, learned and have seen - that has something to do with bonsai. And to keep track of progress of my trees and penjing creations.
Because I´m lovin´ it......
Peace to all of you :)

My video report from Bonsai exhibition that took place in Prešov, Slovakia recently.
Background music is Moonlight sonata by Ludvig Van Beethoven.
PENJING NUMBER 6 - RAILWAY AND LAND (FOLKMAR ROCKS)
With hornbeam saplings.
Winter silhouette after 2 growing seasons. Long roots coming from under the marble slab by now, I am thinking whether to repot next spring or wait another year...for example Harry Harrington didn´t repot his huge hawthorn in a tiny pot for 9 years to get fine ramification....
Penjing číslo 6 - s železnicou - Folkmarské skaly
Osadený mladými hrabmi.
Zimná silueta po dvoch rastových sezónach.
Zo spodu už rastú dlhé korene, no rozmýšľam či na jar presadím, či ešte počkám - napríklad Harry Harrington nepresadil svoj veľký hloh v malinkej miske 9 rokov kvôli jemnému vetveniu....
It is getting tougher for me to do some work around the trees since my twins were born, but I am still able to find some time now and then and do some styling.
So during the last 3 weekend days I managed to start working on my last unstyled juniper that I acquired last year.
Here are some pics:
As I haven´t had enough time to finish it properly, the foliage needs to be thinned out a bit and brought a bit closer to the trunk.
During the last 2 days I styled this yamadori pine twin trunk, which I wrote about some time ago here, and I expressed my intention to style it as naturalistically as possible.
And when I got to it finally, I missed.
And I made a bonsai.
I hope I will figure out how to fix it and give it a bit more naturallistic (or penjing) look as time goes by.
My video report from national exhibition that took place at the Botanical garden in Košice and was organized by SBA, Bonsai centre Košice and Bonsai club Košice. It was actually 2 exhibitions in 1 - the first one consisting of member´s trees and the second one of trees from Bonsai centre Košice.
Background music is my original instrumental composition called "Wind in my bonsai garden".
I have chosen the definite front for recently styled juniper.
It has better overall movement.
But since the tree was styled for the front that now became back of a tree, the crown will be edited a bit as time goes by and backbudding kicks in.
I am thinking about 2 pot styles for it, first would be to take it in chinese penjing direction following the styles of Wu Chengfa, Chen Chang and other penjing masters
or more common flower or round pot that is frequently used by another penjing master Qingquan Zhao too, and nearly always for japanese literati bonsai.
I like them both pretty much and can´t make up my mind. But I have lot of time to think about this ahead so hopefully I will choose the one that will make me happy at the end. And if not I can try the other one after some time so this is not a real problem :D
